To raise money for his mother's surgery, elite survival and combat specialist Chen Lie accepts a commission from the Ji family to head out to sea and search for their missing heiress, Ji Xun. He rescues Ji Xun from a derelict vessel on the high seas, setting off a perilous journey of survival. Pampered and wilful, Ji Xun repeatedly brings trouble upon them, from pirate ambushes to shark encounters, and the two must endure harrowing ordeals like shipwrecks and criminal extortion. Though sharp-tongued, Chen Lie has a soft heart, risking everything to protect her and helping her grow, which sparks feelings between them. Upon returning to the city, the Ji family suspects her disappearance was part of a conspiracy and hires Chen Lie to uncover the truth. Chen Lie exposes a cross-border smuggling ring led by Zhao Qiming and joins forces with the police to take them down. Once the dust settles, Chen Lie returns home to care for his mother, while the newly transformed Ji Xun boldly pursues him, bringing their love story to a joyful conclusion.
