After witnessing heavenly soldiers slaughtering common people over exorbitant incense taxes, the young Yang Jian furiously shatters the Boundary Monument of the Three Realms and tears apart the heavenly decree, publicly exposing the rotten nature of the Heavenly Court and completely breaking away from both the Heaven and the Sacred Sanctuary. In a corner of a war-torn village, a little dog drawn to Yang Jian quietly follows him, becoming his most loyal battle companion—Xiaotian. At a perilous moment, Eldest Princess Linghua intervenes to save him, revealing the cruel truth that his mother Yaoji is imprisoned deep within the Sacred Sanctuary and that the road ahead is fraught with peril, while bestowing upon him a protective soul seal and body-refining mental technique. From then on, with Xiaotian repeatedly by his side, Yang Jian carves his path through thorns and blood.
