Xie Yunyu accidentally travels through time and becomes the third granddaughter of Grand Tutor Xie. To resist an arranged marriage with her cousin, she travels to Qingliang Mountain with her grandfather to live in seclusion. A viewing pavilion engraved with the Big Dipper becomes where she and Xiao Ling, the Prince of Shou'an who lives in seclusion here, exchange anonymous letters. Though having never met, mutual feelings secretly blossom between them. Not until a heavy downpour do they finally meet for the first time in the pavilion. Soon after, Xiao Ling is plotted against by his cousin and has an accident by the green pool with Xie Yunyu, who has come to relax. Afterwards, Xiao Ling resolves to take responsibility, but Xie Yunyu deliberately distances herself due to emotional trauma and their disparity in status, departing with her grandfather for Jiangnan.
