In 1985, Lin Yue, a state-owned factory worker with extraordinary technical skills, faces betrayal as her husband steals her overseas study spot and her maiden family leeches off her earnings. Indignant, she resigns and travels south to the Special Economic Zone. Relying on her deft hands and hardcore mechanical mastery, she starts from an auto repair shop and builds "Xingyao Heavy Industries" with her bare hands. Confronted by foreign technical blockades and the capital siege of her ex-husband, Lin Yue devises a series of clever stratagems, tempering divine machinery from scrap steel, completely crushing foreign machinery at the expo and shattering Western arrogance. From an enduring factory laborer at the bottom, she rises against all odds to become the "Heavy Industry Queen" who redefines the industry's rules and upholds the backbone of national industry.
